Cybersecurity Engineer (Intern/Working Student)

We are building the most important cybersecurity technology since the invention of the Internet. VISS is creating the foundational hardware security layer that will protect every digital endpoint of the future.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced student who loves to test, break, hack, analyse, and secure systems. This is a startup environment, therefore you must be able to explore independently, think creatively, and find loopholes that others may miss. Your work includes practical penetration testing, research-level attacks, and designing ways to detect and prevent them.

This role demands relentless execution, extreme ownership and a genuine desire to build something civilization-level. If you’re looking for work-life balance, predictable routines or comfortable, repetitive tasks, this is not the job for you.

• Perform penetration testing using attack vectors found in online resources, CVE databases, security research papers and others.

• Explore and analyse system behaviour under different attack scenarios

• Perform experiments on network, authentication, configuration, protocol and API-level attack methods

• Analyse logs and system responses to study detection possibilities

• Contribute to designing monitoring, defence and mitigation concepts

• Write clear documentation of your findings and methods

• Assist with tasks related to embedded or hardware security

• Real hands-on experience with penetration testing or cybersecurity work.

• Ability to use standard security testing tools.

• Good understanding of Linux, networks, and common vulnerabilities.

• Ability to research attacks, reproduce them, and analyse their behaviour.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to explore and test without constant supervision

• Basic experience with Git for version control

• Experience with firmware security, embedded systems, or hardware-level security

• A fast-moving startup environment with real responsibility

• Freedom to explore and test many attack vectors

• Direct collaboration with engineers and quick feedback
